The Position
Build the software that brings scientific instruments to life.
Join our engineering team and develop embedded software at the intersection of code, electronics, mechanics, fluidics, and optics. Your software will directly control motors, valves, pumps, sensors, and other components inside our High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments.
You’ll work close to the hardware—from board bring-up and real-time control to debugging complex system behavior—and collaborate with scientists and engineers around the world to turn demanding scientific requirements into reliable products.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and develop embedded C/C++ software for instrument control, including motors, valves, pumps, and sensor systems.
- Develop solutions for data acquisition, filtering, and analysis across fluidic, optical, and mechanical subsystems.
- Translate scientific and technical requirements into reliable software together with instrument development teams.
- Work closely with electronics engineers on board bring-up, hardware validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Design, extend, test, and document embedded platform libraries, interfaces, and reusable components.
- Contribute to firmware architecture, technical specifications, and design reviews for new products.
- Investigate challenging field issues and improve product reliability.
- Maintain and improve our embedded development toolchain, automated testing, and CI/CD environment.
- Develop software supporting manufacturing and production testing.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams across Europe, India, and China.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of commercial embedded software development experience.
- Strong embedded C/C++ development experience with microcontrollers and/or SoCs.
- Good knowledge of object-oriented design, software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience with multithreaded and multicore software in RTOS environments.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Understanding of embedded hardware, processor architectures, and communication interfaces such as I²C, SPI, USB, or PCIe.
- Experience with modern development workflows and tools such as Git, GCC, Jenkins, Jira, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international engineering environment.
- Interest in AI-assisted software development and awareness of cybersecurity and software quality practices.
