Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an embedded software developer to design and maintain Python-based software for mass spectrometry instruments. The role involves collaborating with hardware and scientific teams in an international R&D environment to develop solutions for advanced analytical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Python software for mass spectrometry instruments
• Develop software for embedded Linux-based systems and instrument control
• Investigate and resolve complex software, communication and instrument-level problems
• Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, automated testing and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with hardware, software and scientific teams across international R&D locations

Requirements

• University degree in technical field with 2+ years software development experience or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in Python development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Git version control and modern DevOps practices
• Ability to translate complex technical and scientific requirements into software solutions
• Fluent written and spoken English for international collaboration
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
