Hardware Design Engineer v Czech Republic

Job offer

About TRL Space

We’re building the next generation of small satellites and preparing everything needed to operate them in orbit.

What will you work on?

You’ll design both digital, analog and mixed-signal electronics for real space projects. We’re looking for a system-minded approach and the drive to take things all the way to completion.

In practice, this means you will:

• Start with requirements and define the concept/architecture (digital as well as analog),
• Create schematics, design in Altium Designer, and run simulations as needed (e.g., LTspice),
• Design and finalize the PCB layout (including reviews and design iterations),
• Participate in bring-up and testing,
• Work hands-on in the lab, including soldering when needed,
• Produce and maintain complete documentation (a must),
• Daily cooperation and communication with stakeholders from European Space Agency, partners and customers.

What we’re looking for:

• Hands-on experience designing PCBs in real projects (ideally from schematics through bring-up),
• Strong background in digital electronics and solid understanding of analog fundamentals,
• Proficiency in Altium Designer (schematics + PCB),
• Simulation experience / LTspice is a plus,
• Documentation is not a burden for you — you know how to keep it clear and usable,
• You can communicate in English, both spoken and written,
• If you have overlap into software (embedded, or FPGA/VHDL), that’s a plus.

Who will you work with:

• You’ll join a smaller team that includes a Systems Engineer, Embedded Engineer and Backend Software Engineer.
• On projects, you’ll also collaborate with others across the company — Project Managers, Thermal Analysts, Mechanical Designers, and Quality Engineers.
• You’ll be in contact with external partners (we collaborate with other companies on product development) as well as representatives of the European Space Agency.

Why join us?

• What you design can fly all the way to Venus — your work will have real impact.
• Every project is different: interesting challenges, responsibility, and meaningful ownership.
• You’ll see the full cycle: idea → board → bring-up → measurement results.
• You’ll work with a team of people who love space, help each other out, and still give you room to do your thing.

Our benefits

• meal allowance of 120 CZK/day,
• English language courses,
• flexible working hours with dedicated time for education and professional development,
• sick days,
• parking availability on company premises,
• employer's contribution for Multisport card,
• a company mobile phone with a corporate T-Mobile tariff,
• complimentary fruit, biscuits, coffee, tea, water, beer, and wine at the workplace,
• and immortality, because we are building a lasting legac
