In the Qminers analytics team, we look for patterns and signals across products and financial markets. We test ideas on data, model them, and design algorithms that then trade automatically. Would you enjoy thinking about the mathematical principles behind movements in financial markets? Formulating a hypothesis and seeing the results within moments thanks to a simulation that can replay the market microsecond by microsecond? If you enjoy solving difficult mathematical or programming problems simply because they exist, you will probably enjoy working with us.

What can you expect from this job:

A thorough onboarding and mentorship from experienced colleagues in our analytics team.
Mathematical modelling as a creative and precise scientific craft.
Excellent colleagues who are among the best in their field.
The dynamic environment of financial markets, where innovation is essential and feedback on your ideas is immediate.
An above-standard base salary and exceptionally motivating bonuses reflecting your personal contribution within Qminers.
Many people in our team have experience with mathematical or programming competitions, and candidates with a similar background usually fit in quickly.

Veronika Svobodová

Quantitative Analyst

What we expect from you:

You are a student or recent graduate in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
You have excellent academic results and experience with mathematical, physics, or programming olympiads, competitions, or hackathons.
You have programming experience, ideally in Python.
You have excellent logical reasoning skills and can explain your thinking clearly to others.
You are able to understand more complex mathematical structures and solve difficult problems.
You learn quickly and can quickly get involved in development.
You are results-oriented and proactive in solving problems.
You are familiar with mathematical modelling and statistical methods.

We like to give people room to realize their potential and have a direct impact on results. We like to have results reasonably fast, both in terms of development and runtime. We spend most of our time thinking, discussing what the best solution is, and coding. We see each other in the office 4 days a week, but we don’t set fixed timetables.

At Qminers, we develop an algorithmic trading system that trades completely autonomously on 4 continents, 24/7. Our business is based on smarts, optimization, precise problem formulation and careful statistics, and sometimes arbitrage, which as everyone knows doesn’t exist. We’re huge fans of technology and free markets, and we believe that if our software makes markets better for everyone, we’ll benefit from that too.
