Lead Systems Engineer – Bottling and Packaging Technology v Plzeň – Jižní Předměstí, Česko

A new role for a Lead Systems Engineer is being opened at Konplan, encompassing wide range of technologies in the area of bottling, packaging, and recycling in beverage industry. In this role, you would get a unique opportunity to collaborate with world-class experts on product development, derivation of product requirements from various sources and their translation into MBSE models using tools like Cameo or Siemens Teamcenter. You will act as a technical authority for junior members of the team as well as the primary point of contact for global experts from Krones AG.

Job duties

• In collaboration with subject matter experts, you will characterize existing and new machines from product portfolio and derive product requirements from customer specifications or internal documentation
• You will use MBSE modelling tools like Cameo or Siemens Teamcenter to represent features and functions of the respective machines, applying principles of systems engineering
• By regular contact with product development teams, you will build up your expertise in mechanical, electrical and software design of a wide range of machines forming a beverage filling and packaging line
• As a part of global systems engineering community, you will contribute to development of MBSE modelling methods with your own expertise and ideas as well as to their application for the projects
• You will be in daily contact with a small team of systems engineers located in Pilsen (CZ), supervise their work technically and develop skills of the team
• You will be interacting with global MBSE experts and encourage regular exchange of information and knowledge across all stakeholders in your respective area
• Occasional business trips to Krones facilities in Germany
• The role is based in Pilsen (CZ) office and expects hybrid or on-site work

Requirements for this role:

• At least 3 years of experience with application of Systems Engineering in the environment of mechanical or electrical product development
• Proven expertise in identification, description, and quantification of product requirements
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) is beneficial but not essential
• University degree in mechanical, electrical or software engineering is preferred, relevant secondary education combined with extensive working experience is an option
• English language on at least C1 level (both oral and written) and ability to communicate in global environment on daily basis is a must
• Czech and / or German language is beneficial but not required
• Ability to communicate complex ideas concisely and confidently is a key part of the role
• EU citizenship or a valid working permit at the date of job application is required
