Merck seeks a Senior Scientific Data Engineer/Data Analyst to design and maintain data pipelines for experimental and biological research. The role bridges IT and laboratory operations, integrating scientific data into enterprise platforms to support medicine and vaccine development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for experimental, chemical, and biological data processing
• Integrate scientific data from multiple sources into the data lake
• Prepare and structure data for AI/ML models used in research workflows
• Enable data connection and visualization across LiveDesign, DataGrok, and Spotfire platforms
• Collaborate with scientific and technology teams to translate research questions into data solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with Databricks platform
• 5+ years SQL and Python for data modeling, scripting, and ETL transformations
• Understanding of AI/ML principles and model deployment preparation
• Experience with scientific platforms (LiveDesign, DataGrok, Spotfire)
• Background in chemical, biological, or pharmaceutical research preferred
