Software Engineering Manager v Praha, Česko

Wrike is the most powerful work management platform. Built for teams and organizations looking to collaborate, create, and exceed every day, Wrike brings everyone and all work into a single place to remove complexity, increase productivity, and free people up to focus on their most purposeful work.

Wrike is our people, not a place. As a distributed team, we own our growth, stay globally connected, and rely on the product we build to deliver impactful work alongside brilliant minds. You'll have real ownership over meaningful work, a global team that has your back, and the flexibility to do your best work your way. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Our vision:  A world where everyone is free to focus on their most purposeful work, together.

About the Role:

You'll help build the very AI-powered platform you use every day, with real autonomy over the features you ship. As an Engineering Manager at Wrike, you will lead a cross-functional team to deliver high‑impact product and platform initiatives. You’ll combine strong technical acumen with people leadership, process excellence, and product thinking to drive timely and measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will own results end‑to‑end – from discovery and planning through execution, rollout, and continuous improvement – while helping your team grow and do the best work of their careers.

Your Impact:

• Go beyond formal execution by shaping and building product experiences that matter to customers, using metrics (e.g., customer value, adoption, reliability, and quality) to measure impact.
• Own projects end‑to‑end: discovery and solutioning in partnership with product and design, planning and sequencing, execution, release preparation and launch, post-release follow-ups and maintenance.
• Partner with product to define, communicate, and track team goals/OKRs aligned with product and company strategy.
• Make thoughtful prioritization and trade‑off decisions between scope, quality, and speed.
• Lead planning, estimation, and phased rollouts for large, cross‑functional projects and customer‑impacting changes.
• Improve how the team works by evolving processes, tools, and collaboration patterns, including using AI/automation to increase efficiency and value.
• Partner closely with Product Management and Design as part of an effective “triad” to deliver customer‑centric solutions.

Your Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience (engineering, technical leadership, and/or management).
• 3+ years of management experience, including leading cross‑functional teams.
• Proven track record of delivering measurable results (e.g., business impact, customer satisfaction, technical metrics (improved performance, reliability, quality, etc.), delivery metrics (team throughput, etc.).
• Experience giving direct, timely feedback and handling difficult conversations with clarity and empathy.
• Solid engineering background with the ability to “speak the language” of engineers, review designs, ask the right technical questions and challenge decisions and estimations.
• Experience with planning, prioritization, and execution of complex customer-facing projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messages to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience in setting team goals and using metrics to manage and improve team performance.
• Strong track record in coaching, career development, and performance management.
• Proficiency with agile development practices and iterative delivery.
• Strong business and product sense: ability to connect technical work to customer value and company strategy.

Standout Qualities:

• Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining high‑performing engineers.
• Examples of effective communication: presentations, roadmap updates, etc. – targeting the entire team or stakeholders.
• Established practice of using data and analytics to make informed decisions and measure outcomes.
• Proven ability to introduce process improvements, challenge the status quo, and drive innovation within constraints.
• Hands‑on use of AI/automation tools to streamline workflows and increase team productivity.
• Ability to influence without authority and build trust across engineering, product, design, and business stakeholders.

Team Dynamics:

You will lead a cross-functional team of software engineers and work in close partnership with a dedicated Product Manager and Designer as an integrated “triad.” You’ll collaborate regularly with other product teams, platform/service owners, and cross‑functional stakeholders across the organization. You’ll report to a senior engineering leader and be part of a broader engineering management community that shares best practices, learns from each other, and supports your growth as a leader.

Our Work Style:

• Cross‑functional, collaborative environment with tight partnership between Engineering, Product, and Design.
• Agile ways of working (e.g., iterative planning, frequent releases, continuous feedback loops).
• Emphasis on clear communication of plans, status, and risks to stakeholders.
• Strong focus on metrics to manage quality, reliability, and throughput, and to guide continuous improvement.
• Encouragement to experiment, use AI/automation, and refine processes to maximize impact and developer experience.
• Demonstrated total ownership and dedication: proactively drives initiatives from conception to results, takes responsibility for outcomes, and consistently follows through on commitments.

Benefits & Perks:

• 5 Weeks of paid vacation
• Sick Leave Compensation
  • 5 Paid Uncertified Sick Days
  • 2 weeks fully paid w/ medical certificate, additional

We’re a team of innovators and creators who solve the complex work problems of today and tomorrow.

Hybrid work mode

Wrike is our people, not a place. With 1,000+ employees collaborating across nearly every time zone, we support talent through 10 global hubs — Australia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, France, India, Ireland, Japan, and the United States — offering flexible ways of working that include remote work, hybrid environments, and co-working spaces across many locations.

While flexibility looks different across teams and regions, employees located near certain hubs — particularly in Prague (CZ), Nicosia (CY), Bangalore (IN), and Rennes (FR) — are generally expected to collaborate in person around 2–3 days per week, balancing the flexibility of distributed work with opportunities for in-person collaboration and connection.
