Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Staff Engineer for Data to design and maintain the data foundation for scanning electron microscope automation software. This senior role involves building scalable data pipelines, enabling AI-ready systems, and supporting semiconductor industry applications through on-premise Linux infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines to ingest, persist, cleanse and validate process and telemetry data
• Design a well-governed data platform with uniform access, quality controls, and observability
• Prepare data infrastructure to support AI and agentic systems with clean interfaces
• Enable data-driven decision-making for high-tech semiconductor manufacturing equipment development
• Work on-premise on Linux while designing for hosting-agnostic portability

Requirements

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• At least three years of professional data engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in data modeling, quality, orchestration, and lineage
• Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting, SQL, and Python
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Collaborative mindset with open communication and shared responsibility
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Apache Spark preferred
