Technical Lead, External and Scientific Engagement v Praha, Česko

Merck seeks a Technical Lead to direct platform development for External and Scientific Engagement products that deliver clinical and scientific insights to medical teams and researchers. The role combines hands-on software architecture with leadership of distributed engineering teams, focusing on secure, cloud-native solutions in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Own technical vision and roadmap in partnership with product and architecture leaders, aligning technical priorities with business goals
• Lead engineers in designing and delivering secure, modern solutions with direct involvement in design and prototyping
• Develop modernization roadmaps that prioritize business value, improve sustainability, and reduce technical risk
• Partner with product managers to translate business needs into technical requirements and provide feasibility analysis
• Mentor engineers in technical design and solution architecture to strengthen long-term team capability

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership with mentoring experience and product strategy ownership
• Broad expertise across frontend, backend, and database technologies including React, Python, Java, https://jobeax.com/link/JSd7UYCSg572jJDY, and Databricks
• Extensive hands-on software development and prototyping with demonstrated delivery of high-quality solutions
• Deep cloud computing knowledge, specifically AWS and Azure cloud-native architecture

• Cross-functional collaboration with product, design, architecture, and engineering teams
• Experience governing strategic vendors and leading globally distributed engineering teams
